Berlin Wall and HOMEWORK

Berlin Wall and Homework

In my spare moments (hours) in Germany I have put together my year's worth of homework (30 weeks).  I think I must have watched 30 movies because it seems like it took me ONE movie to create one homework page.  You will see a parent component and an assignment for the student.

I called it HomeSlice because I thought it would be fun to ask kids if they had their HomeSlice.  The concept is a SLICE of SCIENCE at home.  My hope was to have a good resource for parents and good practice for kids.  I loved putting it together, dreaming of my students I will have this year.

Summer Planning

\

I am in Germany for the month of July.  I,  of course, m thinking about this upcoming year.  My thoughts have been on how to handle homework.  I would like to have a sheet that is sent home for students to work on.  The frustration with homework is that parents do not know how to help.  I am creating HOME SLICE (A slice of science for home) with the concepts outlined for parents and practice for kids.  I am about 1/4 through the year.

Our days are busy driving the countryside and touring through German towns, but at night we all tend to veg and watch silly movies.  This is when I work on classroom stuff.  I will send it to some of my science teacher friends to get feedback and do some revising.  I wish I had some fifth graders to help!
